Introducing A.H. Proctor

Introducing A.H. Proctor

 |  Features

We recently introduced you to Claire Merchant, one of our busiest authors of the year. But she’s by no means the only one working hard! We’re dedicating this blog post to Angela Proctor, one of other very busy authors.

Upon completing her recent Author Interview with us (which can be read here) Angela said that, while ‘many people believe that the most difficult part of the process is to find a publisher’ she found that to just be the beginning of a long journey. And it has been quite a journey for a first time author!

In August, Angela’s first ever book signing was at the grand opening of Waterstones Glasgow Byres Road branch. It was a fantastic success, with Thumble Tumble and the Ollpheist becoming one of the bestselling books for all of Waterstones that day. Angela was accompanied at her event with several witchy friends, who have become a regular feature of Thumble Tumble Events.

Since then, Angela has been signing at Waterstones stores all over Scotland, including Braehead, East Kilbride and Newton Mearns. Visit Scotland has shown a keen interest in the book, set on the Isle of Arran, and supported Angela in hosting a very special even on the island – a potion hunt which saw children searching for potion ingredients in hopes of winning a bar of limited edition Scoffalicious Chocolate.

When not appearing at Waterstones, or working her day job, Angela gives frequent school talks at primary schools, where classes love to hear her read from the first in her series of books. A very special competition is in the works, in connection with the schools Angela has visited, so watch this space!

Most recently, Angela has just been confirmed as a speaker at Wee Write Festival, 6th March 2016. It may seem like a long way off at the moment, but we’re sure she’ll be keeping busy.

Onwards and upwards of Angela and Thumble Tumble, Arran’s newsest and smallest witch!
