Our Best Christmas Books to Read if You're Snowed In

 |  Book Nook

It's less than a week until Christmas, and who knows, maybe it'll be a white one this year! In that (very unlikely) situation, you're going to want to have some Christmas books to read. So, here are our best Christmas books to read if you're snowed in:

1) Holly and The Snow Fairy, by Genna Rowbotham

If you fancy a sweet and lighthearted tale, then look no further than this little wonder. Although a children's book, there's nothing to stop you reading about Holly's Christmas adventure on a cold, wintery afternoon! After all, with the Snow Fairy's help, it could turn out to be the most special Christmas ever!

2) Winter Oak: Keeper of the Realm, by Colleen Marlett

Not as young as Holly and The Snow Fairy, but still just as enjoyable. Winter Oak is set around Christmas time, as Clover Lawless helps her father take care of the horses up at Winter Oak...but these aren't any ordinary horses, and Clover isn't a normal girl! If you like a snowy tale with a fantasy twist, then this is definitely one to add to the list!

3) The Snowgran And Ongalonging, by Sue Hampton

Two stories in one, The Snowgran And Ongalonging are both charming and happy tales that will provide you with endless amusement this Christmas. One story about a snowman that turns into a snowgran with a personality and a past; the other a story of a strange world where volcanoes are greedy and flowers have big ideas.

4) Volf: Silver, by Sarah Elliot

Although not deliberately based around Christmas, Volf: Silver does open to a snowy forest, set in the harsh and cold winter. Definitely for the more young adults and older teenagers, this book, once again, brings that fantasy twist to an already magical time of year. The first in the Amethyst Trilogy, this book is certainly not one to miss.

5) The Magical Tales of Alfie and Frank, by John Martin

From the YA to the young children's, this little book will take you on an adventure this Christmas. Following Alfie, a two-year-old toddler, and Frank, his one-eyed teddy, the pair set off on a quest to see what the world outside of Battledown Children's Home has in store for them. Will they make it home in time for Christmas? You'll have to read it to find out!
