Five Young Adult Picks For March
| Features
As our Year of Reading Young Adult week continues, I’m thrilled to share a handpicked selection of my favourite Pegasus YA titles. Whether you’re looking for a thrilling adventure, a reflective coming-of-age story, or a flight of fancy this March, this curated list has a Young Adult fiction title to match every mood.

Jack Mathias and the Boonetown Bandits by G.M. Savage
He's known as the class clown - the kid with a lot of nerve. And some believe thirteen-year-old Jack Mathias is too confident for his own good. His audacious practical jokes and impulsiveness frequently land him in hot water and growing up seems a world away. However, a sudden wild adventure with his unlikely companions, Gene (the nerd) and Edgar (the shy outcast), thrusts Jack towards maturity with more of a shove than normal life would ever have managed. Will he meet the challenge?
The trio's illicit and desperate quest to find long-hidden treasure leads them into great danger, challenging their collective wits and testing the limits of their physical and mental endurance. Will Jack, the natural, fearless leader, discover the ancient jewels and a different version of himself in the process? Or will he avoid personal responsibility for the rest of his life?
Eliza Through the Portal by T.B Carlton
Have you ever wondered what those weird noises in the attic might be? Or who those strange people in the old photograph were? Eleven year old Eliza wondered too, and she was willing to find out. What was supposed to be a normal sleepover at her grandparents' house, turned out to be the most extraordinary night of Eliza's life. Finding herself in a different world where old friends have become strangers, she must uncover dark secrets concerning those close to her, fight to stay alive and be heard, all the while looking for the way home. T.B. Carlton's debut novel explores the mystical journey of a young girl as she enters a portal to a place she's never been, where people wear funny clothes and don't understand her. Will she get back? In the end, does she want to?
When A Robin Appears by R. L. Glover
When Lillian is suddenly transported across the country, she knows that something new and exciting is about to happen. Through her budding romance with Nick, she discovers more about herself and her family history than she could have ever thought possible. What secrets and mysteries will be unveiled as she learns about her true identity?
Maths to The Matterhorn by Viv Foster
When a member of your family you have worshipped growing up disappears from your life, you are left with nothing but to grasp at straws, waiting for them to return on their own because you have no way of finding them. This is what is happens to Sam Brown when his older brother Daniel leaves home after a fight with their mother. But one morning, two years later, as Sam sits eating breakfast and reading the back of the cornflakes packet, he suddenly and unbelievably finds the solution to his predicament - The Competition. If he were to win, which he begins to undoubtedly believe he would, Sam would receive a round-the-world ticket and £1000 spending money.
Determined now to find his brother, Sam sets off on a path he does not know is fraught with danger, deception and possibly murder. Will tracing his brother's footsteps lead Sam to finding him, or would it actually throw him in more perilous waters?
The Wings of the Spectrum by Sarah Marriott
Freya is not looking forward to spending summer at her grandma's house in the middle of nowhere, but when she unexpectedly meets Rhianne, she realises that the next few weeks are going to be anything but dull.
Rhianne, heir to the throne of the Fae, needs to earn her wings - and quickly - and it seems that she needs Freya to help her.
