Books vs E-books the pros and cons
Portable
E-Books are great for reading on the go, an easy pick me up, you have a choice of multiple books on one portable device rather than sticking to one book or bringing a dozen physical books with you on the go. Slip your eBook in your bag and you have thousands of books at your fingertips!
Books are Touchable
A lot of book readers will agree that there’s nothing more refreshing than picking up a physical book, turning the page and smelling that lovely ‘book smell’.
Books are not just there for accessing information, for some people it’s the whole experience of collecting them as decorative objects. I mean what isn’t special about a traditional book shelf filled with books?
Lighting
E-books can give off an artificial light which make your brain think it’s still daylight outside which will make It harder to fall asleep and can even affect the quality of sleep throughout the night.
So, if you’re a night time reader you may want to stick to a traditional book.
Visual Benefits
If you have poor eyesight then E-books can be amazing! This is because you have the ability to change the size if the text on the page making it easier to read.
Cost
Often times E-books are cheaper han buying multiple physical books so you’re technically saving money in the long run!
The verdict
The truth is one will always be better than one or the other for different reasons. I’m not sure we are all ready to turn fully digital and turn our backs on our beloved paperbacks just yet. Why not get them both then you can enjoy the best of both worlds?
