Anthony David - Author Life

 |  Author Life

Anthony David originally published his first book, H2O, with Pegasus in June 2017. Now with the release of his second book, Pay Up, we wanted to catch up with Anthony and find out how his life has changed since becoming a pubished author.

Did you always dream of becoming an author?

I have always written. Up until recently, it was as a singer/songwriter. I have had several ideas for a novel in the back of my mind for years but never thought I would get around to writing and finishing a book. A window of opportunity opened up when I was made redundant from my job to get one of these stories onto paper.

What was your first job?

My first job was as a farm hand on a dairy farm.

How did you come about writing your book? Was that your intention or did you start writing for fun?

While I was writing my first novel, the plot for the second novel came to me; I spent some time researching some aspects. Writing for me is like reading: you can't wait to find out what happens in the next chapter or how it is going to end.

What was your life like before you became an author?

After leaving the farm, I started working in the computer industry, which is where I have been employed all my working life. This has taken me to several countries; I also have a parallel career in show business. I have performed almost 3000 times on stage in both amateur and professional productions. This has included performing in stage musicals, drama, opera and concerts. I also have appeared in many T.V. dramas (both international and local) and T.V. commercials.

Now that you are a published author, how has your life changed, if at all?

My life hasn’t changed, as I am still participating in all the things I did before. Music (singer/songwriter), stage shows, concerts. Working in IT. Getting out on my SUP board three times a week and coming up with new ideas for novels.

Can you please describe a typical day in your life now?

As I work in IT full time, my job helps fill my week. After work, my evening may involve a visit to the gym or an SUP paddle board. I also try and practice my music 3-4 times a week. Sometimes I might have a practice with the Bee Gees tribute group that I sing with (the Gee Bees).

What is your most memorable moment of your life as an author?

I think finishing my first book and holding the published book in my hand was pretty special.

In a few words, how would you review your experience with Pegasus Publishers?

I have found Pegasus to be very professional and great to deal with. They always communicate where they are up to in the publishing cycle.
