R. Allen Shoaf

R. Allen Shoaf (Al, as most people know him) has ‎been writing poetry for over sixty years. Most ‎recently, he has published Call Me Queequeg, ‎Ishmael (New Plains Press), a collection of poems ‎responding to Herman Melville's Moby Dick. He has ‎also published the chapbooks Erotic Reckonings and ‎Simple Rules. In 2022, he published a substantial ‎collection of his poetry, Selected Poems 1968-2021. ‎Currently, he continues to work on The True Shape of ‎All of It, a collection of poems responding to Olga ‎Tokarczuk's The Books of Jacob, and Hidden in Each ‎One of Us, responding to Dostoevsky's fiction.‎
