Starry, Starry Night

Kent Hung

A challenging upbringing, the loss of his birth mother under tragic circumstances and an ‎emotionally unavailable father, have all wounded George, putting a dent in his confidence. ‎George's experience has shaped his outlook on life, making him feel inferior and influencing the ‎way he interacts with other people. Often, George has put himself in awkward situations without ‎being able to understand his own actions and the consequences they cause.‎

When an opportunity arises to trace his birth mother's family, George embarks on a journey to find ‎his long-lost relatives, not realising that this would also be a journey of self-discovery. As the past ‎surfaces, he must also confront his present. Following a health scare, George gradually realises that ‎true change has to come from within himself. ‎
In this poignant tale of family, identity, and the search for belonging, George's quest for connection ‎leads him on a path of self-discovery, where the answers he seeks may change his life forever. Will ‎he manage to heal the fractured relationships around him, restore his self-esteem and finally find ‎contentment? ‎

ABOUT KENT HUNG

Born in Taiwan and raised in Sweden, Kent has lived in Edinburgh since 2014. ‎
He could never have imagined when he was struck by inspiration in 2016 that eight years later he ‎would have written 200,000 words and that his third novel Starry, Starry Night would now be ‎published. The initial idea came to him watching the TV program Long Lost Family. This novel is ‎close to his heart, with themes of mental health and finding peace with the past. ‎
As a writer, his aim has always been to create characters that are relatable and hopefully you'll ‎find them emotionally engaging. Before starting as, a novelist, he had eleven articles on food - ‎published in an English magazine in Brussels - and that laid the foundation for his writing.‎
Starry, Starry Night is the last of a trilogy following Letting Go and Entitled. He awaits the next ‎step on his creative path.‎
