Sunblessed

Sunblessed’s fascination with literature began at a young age. However, she did not start writing poetry until much later, in her early thirties. Her role model was the dean of the chapel at Howard University, USA, whom she can only describe as a wordsmith. He inspired her to widen her vocabulary, a necessity for her engagement with the written word. For most of her life, poetry has served as a comforting, therapeutic support system. Writing poetry gave her a sense of self-esteem. Furthermore, poetry gave her the freedom to explore her thoughts, feelings and observations of the world around her.
