Sala Snook

I was born in Ghana and grew up in an extended family in the northern part of Ghana, Tumu in the Upper West Region, though I spent a lot of school holidays with my late uncle and his family in the south (Koforidua, Eastern Region of Ghana) and immigrated to England after I met my husband, and have lived here since.
My passion for cooking began at a young age. When not at school or studying I stayed around the family kitchen helping out by doing small jobs such as grinding or pounding herbs and spices for my late mother and aunties when they cooked, whilst observing what went on.
It is now my pleasure to share with a wider audience my Ghanaian recipes; bringing traditional Ghanaian cooking to your kitchen.

This is a Ghanaian cookbook with a difference. Born in Ghana, my recipes go back generations including family staples like waakye and tuozaafi, some of Ghana's most popular street foods.
