Martin Wallace
Martin Wallace is an eighty-three-year-old author who
was educated at Emanuel School on Wandsworth
Common from 1953 to 1959. Following his schooling, he
embarked on a career in banking, joining Martin's Bank
through its non-graduate entrance scheme. Over the next
four years, he gained extensive knowledge of the banking
industry. In 1963, he seized the opportunity to join Henry
Ansbacher & Co. Ltd, a newly authorised merchant bank,
where he dedicated twenty-seven years of his career.
During his tenure, he rose to the position of Treasury
Director before resigning in 1991. He then joined
Ansbacher & Co, an Irish bank owned by the Ansley
(formerly Ansbacher) family, where he worked until his
retirement in 1996.
Since retiring, Martin has devoted his time to writing
poems and stories, primarily for his own enjoyment and to
entertain his children and grandchildren. Encouraged by
his family, he has now decided to share his work with a
wider audience, marking this publication as his first foray
into the world of published writing.
