Kate Fox
Toni Morrison wrote, "If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then
you must write it." This quote spoke to Kate deeply. It haunted her. She had been searching for a
book to read to her children about racism and the importance of seeing people's colors and how
dismissive it is to say, "I don't see color. I just see people." She wrote this book for her children, but
she published it with the hope that it would start a conversation in other homes about racism and
marginalized populations and the importance of seeing everyone's colors and how their lives are
impacted by them. This book does not have an end. She hopes this book is just the beginning of
conversations in your home.
