Summerlake

Richard Lloyd

When nine-year-old Daisy Davies ventures onto the branches of a dead tree to rescue a drifting plastic bag, she tumbles into the dark waters of Summerlake-and into a mystery far larger than herself. Saved by unseen hands, Daisy emerges not only with her life but also with questions that deepen as strange signs begin to surround her: a robin that seems to watch over her, a willow figure woven with impossible skill, and the haunting ruin of Summerlake Court looming above the woods.
At school, Daisy faces cruelty and isolation, while at home her parents struggle against the crushing weight of money worries. Yet in the midst of loneliness, she discovers courage, kindness and a fragile thread of magic binding her world together. Summerlake is a tale of resilience, wonder and the quiet strength found in unexpected places.
