The Year the World Stood Still

Teresa Ammons Crew

Abbie bemoans the fact that her life is boring, but she has no idea that the summer of 2019 will bring earth-shattering changes, not only to her family, but to the entire world. After her mother is hospitalized and possibly dying, Abbey, fearing the possibility of being removed from her home by child protective services, must summon all of her strength and courage in order to keep herself and her younger brother, Levi, in their own home.
Abbey soon learns she is not alone. Surrounded by those who love her, including new neighbors, Davey, a young man from an abusive home, and surprisingly, her deceased grandmother. Abbey manages to meet and overcome all of the obstacles with which she is faced during the harrowing ordeal of becoming head-of-household in an unfamiliar world where all old rules and norms no longer apply.
