Sally Maitland grew up on a farm near the sea in south Devon, UK. Her love of animals began with sheep and lambs, cows and calves and of course her beloved ponies and horses. Her love of animals and land, and how to farm it sensibly without overuse of chemicals and pesticides, was instilled in her by her father. She has recently retired from being a medical secretary and continues to swim, garden and dog walk, and now has wonderful granny duties as well.
