More Discerning: A Pride and Prejudice variation novel

Kinga Brady

What if Elizabeth Bennet had seen more clearly? What if Darcy had spoken sooner?

More Discerning is a bold reimagining of Pride and Prejudice, where one small shift in perception changes everything.

Set in the heart of Regency England, this captivating retelling explores what might have been if Elizabeth and Jane Bennet had approached love with sharper insight and steadier hearts. Familiar events take new turns as Elizabeth finds herself drawn to the enigmatic Mr. Darcy – not through prideful misjudgments, but through honest self-reflection and deeper understanding.

As social expectations loom and secrets stir beneath polished surfaces, love becomes both a risk and a revelation. With Austen’s wit and tenderness at its core, More Discerning offers readers an unforgettable story of second chances, emotional growth, and the quiet courage to see – and choose – love before it is too late.

ABOUT KINGA BRADY

Kinga Brady has been a long-time fan of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice since reading the ‎original when she was sixteen. She has also read many great stories from Austen's created world by ‎other writers. An English teacher by profession, though a Hungarian (she married her own Mr ‎Darcy some two decades ago and has been living in England), she tried her hand at writing. She ‎wanted to write an Elizabeth who was not so blind about Mr Darcy. This novel is the result.‎
