Danika and Borti (a black shaman), join The Horse Wolves. They know their age-old itinerant pastoral existence will be replaced by farming, mining for gold and silver to be traded far and wide, and new forms of warfare.
The Horse Wolves, led by Danika set out to negotiate an alliance with the settler-miners camped near the river, Yew. An agreement is reached.
Bad news arrives. A party of Botai and Horse Wolves attacked, brutalised and killed hunters camped near the river. Yamanya were found amongst the mutilated dead.
As Danika fights an enemy in single combat watched by many supporters and several foes the formidable Yamanya prepare to block the victors leaving...

Robert H. Dorpman is a writer who was once a Doonhamer and previously worked in retail and financial IT services. These days he is happily retired and living in Somerset, only a short car ride from his grandchildren. Horses and Gold is his debut novel whose subject matter is coping with enforced change and adversity.
