Ray Dillard is a sixty-nine-year-old retired teacher and administrator. He attributes his understanding of the human spirit and its need for nourishment and growth to his experiences as a son, brother, husband, father, and teacher. The Wichita Discovery is his second book. He has published poetry and personal narratives in magazines and his work has often been used for oral reading competitions.
