Scribbables and Mutterances

Glenys Adams

As her 75th birthday approached Glenys Adams had a crazy idea; to collect together 75 of her poems, and send them out into the world to seek their fortune.
So, here they are, written over almost 70 years, an eclectic mix of free verse and strict metre, arranged in five sections meandering through life, from school days to senior moments, by way of the sensible, the spiritual and the downright silly.
Step inside and meet the unpredictable Jacqueline Hyde and lonely Old Nell. Find an emerging dragonfly but try not to lose your marbles. Travel round India drinking tea, then experience a summer drought on Dartmoor. And look out for the school inspector who makes an unwelcome appearance.
What sort of poetry do you most enjoy? Whatever it is, there is sure to be something here that grabs your attention, gets you thinking or at the very least makes you smile.
