ABOUT NICOLA WYRILL

Nikki Wyrill was born in Yorkshire and spent many happy holidays with her own grandad, John Lawry, who was a head gamekeeper and conservationist on the Grimston Park Estate, Tadcaster. He was also awarded a medal for forty years' service to the countryside. He imbued in her a deep love and respect for nature which is reflected in her storytelling.
Many years on, and in need of a new beginning, Nikki gave up her job in London and moved home from Buckinghamshire to the south west coast of Dorset. Her new surroundings by the sea and rural countryside inspired her to write her first book The Boy Who Hid in the Woods which was short listed for the Penguin WriteNow 2021 editorial programme.
