Tom meets with Owl, the brown cow and the polar bear, and he tells them the earth is slowly being destroyed by humans and animals. He says that changes will have to be made by him as a human being, and by owl as a bird and brown cow as an animal.
Tom points out to each of them that they will lose the present homes in which they live, owl will lose his leafy bower, and the brown cow will not have sweet grass to eat in the meadow. Tom will also have to make changes, as climate change will impact on him as well
The three of them plan what changes they can make, each one of them doing their bit to save this planet. Small changes can make a difference, and they hope by doing this they will be able to slow down the pace of climate change, and that they will live safely each in his own environment.

ABOUT MARGARET MOLLOY

Margaret Molloy is author of Agnes Morrogh- Bernard: Foundress of Foxford Woollen Mills published in 2014 and Martin Sheridan: Mayo's Famous Son 1881-1918 (2018). She is the co-author with Professor Peter Reid, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen of Church and State: Censorship and Political Interference in the Libraries of County Mayo in The Journal of Library and Information History in May 2013 [Online] at www.tandfonline.com. She was part of the editorial committee for the following publications: Bohola Its History and its People, 1992 and The Martin Sheridan Story, 1998. Her work is mainly historical; however, she has written for children, and The Brown Donkey has been recently published. Articles have been published in national newspapers and magazines: Ireland's Own, Ireland's Eye, The Irish Times, The Irish Catholic, The Western People, The Mayo News and The Connaught Telegraph.

Margaret holds a B A in English and History, and an MSc in Library and Information Studies. She works in Ballina Library, Co. Mayo and she lives in Bohola, in Co. Mayo.
