Lana was born in Colchester in 1970, where she lived with her family. As a child Lana loved telling stories to her friends. In 1991 she married her husband Andrew and later moved to Burnham on Crouch with their two children. Lana worked in a primary school for 13 years.
After her granddaughters were born, Lana wrote the story of Winter, which came about from a dream.
