BATTLEFLEET AND EMPIRE

Kevin Wraight

Known as the senior service, the Royal Navy is the oldest military organisation of the United Kingdom. Its traditions date back centuries, as do her battle honours and in this book we chart not just the evolution of the Royal Navy but also its pivotal part in developing the British Empire. This work will show how the Royal Navy started as a humble collection of ships to become the unequalled master of the seas for over a hundred years. The great battles will be studied as well as the social and economic changes brought about by the navy, both at home and abroad. This is one of the most exciting parts of British history which will take the reader on a journey of discovery and excitement.
