These stories feature a retired private detective, Robert Granger, living in some luxury in a small, select, private hotel in the south of the Isle of Wight. He is asked to sort out a number of problems brought to him, including an attempted murder, theft of a valuable art work, death threats received by a resident emanating from jealous relatives, and the tracing and recovery of a son from a previous marriage who he never knew. In all these cases his forensic and other skills prove invaluable.
