Maxx and Mrs. Queen

Janet Williams

Maxx and Mrs. Queen is a heartwarming and unusual animal rescue story. Maxx, Harry, Greta, Tootsie, and ZaZa were themselves homeless until Uncle Oscar found them one cold, dark night and took them home. When Uncle Oscar is to be awarded an honorary title, Mrs. Queen invites Uncle Oscar to bring his family to meet her at the palace, and so begins this imaginative story of rescuing dogs and cats from life on the streets and finding them loving forever homes. Be prepared to laugh and cry as the story winds its way from Buckingham Palace through the streets of London and St. James's Park, bringing the homeless animals to safety, a Royal Fur Ball, and much more.

ABOUT JANET WILLIAMS

When Janet Williams, animal lover extraordinaire, was growing up in England and rescued her first animal (a teddy bear abandoned in the gutter) at the age of three, the Mrs. Queen of this story was still a princess.
At the age of 20, Janet said goodbye to her horse and her family and set sail for the United States. She settled in Cleveland, Ohio, and married and raised her family there, including a succession of cats and dogs all in need of a home. In 2007 Janet retired and relocated herself and her beloved four cats and dog to Searsport, Maine.
Maxx and his siblings were the feline family of Janet's good friend and fellow animal lover who dedicated herself to caring for feral cats. Winky and Maggie were part of Janet's family and her relative, Uncle Oscar, is truly a retired British Royal Naval Officer. The rescue of so many cats and dogs is Janet's dream for all homeless animals, so she is donating all proceeds from this book toward making that dream come true.
