The Tale of Franklin Gaddarini

James Bovill

Franklin Gaddarini is a 49-year-old Glaswegian who feels something is
wrong with him. He suspects he has no purpose to his life, but his natural
sloth stops him from trying to find one. His instinctive response to problems
is to run away from them, and as they start to grow, he decides a short
city break would be the way to refresh his life. But the break does not
go quite as planned, and on return he finds that certain difficulties have now
become crises and will not be put off any longer. The Tale Of Franklin
Gaddarini
invites the reader to explore whether the protagonist is
mentally ill, or possessed by some evil force, or simply lost in the fog of the 21st
century. Some of the ghosts which emerge through this fog may be entertaining,
but others are more than terrifying.
