Leaving HER Behind

K.L.J Browne

Leaving Her Behind is about four women as they seek belonging, chase their dreams and hold on ‎to the bonds of sisterhood against a backdrop of change and suspense. Hope clutches the rail, her ‎heart races with fear and excitement. She has left behind Whitby for an exciting new world  ̶  and ‎for Frank Palmer. But Hope soon discovers that love, fame and ambition can tangle together in ‎dangerous ways. Back in England, Pearl and Violet step into their own spotlight, as their theatre ‎troupe is invited to perform in London’s prestigious West End. For Violet, it’s a dream come true  ̶  ‎but for Pearl, the stage hides secrets. Meanwhile, Ralph, a fairground worker with a troubled past, ‎and Belle, a woman haunted by dangerous men, fight to carve out a future amid the noise of the ‎travelling fairs. Their struggle highlights that every ending is really another curtain rising, whether ‎it is in the bright lights of New York, the glittering theatres of London, or the narrow streets of ‎Whitby.‎

ABOUT K.L.J BROWNE

K.L.J. Browne grew up in a small village called ‎Wreningham and began writing short stories as a ‎teenager. She then went on to have her two children, ‎Laura and Glen, and writing stopped for some time. In ‎Laura's teenage years, she became a keen writer too; ‎as the years went on, they always said they would like ‎to write a story together. So, during lockdown, they ‎put some ideas together, and ‘Her' was born.‎
