Dystopia

Simon Burleigh

In the chilling near-future of Dystopia, Christian and Jane Malford watch their once-peaceful life collapse under the weight of environmental extremism. Driven from their farm into a claustrophobic, state-controlled flat, they now labour for the very system that crushed their freedom: Christian engineers surveillance cameras to watch others, while Jane spends her days in a sterile lab processing insect protein disguised as food. Even the simplest comforts like fresh milk, real meat now have become rare luxuries, rationed away under carbon credits and government decree. When a bitter election ushers in a fragile coalition, whispers of change begin to stir. Yet the promise of hope quickly curdles as new restrictions tighten their grip, culminating in a suffocating climate lockdown. It is then that Christian uncovers a secret project, one that threatens to erase privacy itself. Torn between survival and defiance, the Malfords must face a choice that could cost them everything: comply, or fight to reclaim the life stolen from them.
