Robbie Marshall's Little Visitor

Doreen Ann Ellison

Robbie Marshall is a nearly thirteen year old, who lives with his mother, Tess, and his younger sister, Maisie.
Late one Sunday night he is awoken by his name being called and, to his amazement, a ball the size of an orange, of ever changing light and colour has invaded his bedroom. It emerges that the sphere is an infant alien which has lost its way on an exploratory expedition to Earth with its parents, or parrots, as it mistakenly calls them. Well it is only a baby!
Having an infant alien forced upon him, is difficult for Robbie to come to terms with at first but as the story develops these two unlikely bedfellows, literally, become inseparable. They embark on a series of adventures both to educate the alien, AKA The Orb, and to try to find it's missing parrots - sorry parents.

ABOUT DOREEN ANN ELLISON

Now retired, I am concentrating on writing books for young people from five to ninety-five, to bring some 'magic' into their lives.
Writing has always been a part of my varied career, e.g., I wrote a women's fashion page for a newspaper; I have had poems published in five anthologies. I have written technical documents, training manuals, and performance poetry for which I ran a workshop at Caerleon Summer Writers School. I have also written poetry, short stories and plays.
My interests are many, including reading, watercolour painting, pencil portraiture, theatre, cinema, socialising and Scrabble. I was in the Chair of the Warrington U3A for four years and am a founder member of the Mature Broadcasters Association, having my own slot on Radio Warrington. I love to travel the world and am an avid reader.
Divorced then widowed, I now live in a retirement apartment, have two adult children and one adored grandson.
