Elad's Fables: The Weasel From Winslow

Dale Niles

Pat could sneak into coops through the smallest of spaces,

and find all the hens in their usual places,

Quiet and soft all asleep on their nests,

dreaming of places without Pat the pest.

Pat squeezed into the hen house from under the floor,

and silently waited for the chickens to snore.

Stealing the eggs was no problem for Pat.

His problem was what to do after that.

Pat the weasel was a professional at his job. But not every day goes as planned. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. This is the story of one of those days when nothing seems to go right.

ABOUT DALE NILES

Dale lives in the beautiful Fraser Valley in beautiful British Columbia. Did he mention it is beautiful there? He likes to spend long periods of time in the local woods and forest, which is a good thing because he is usually lost, unless he is with his wife who is part homing pigeon. He has two grown sons whom he has taught the life saving skills of always being prepared for the unknown by taking them down paths unknown... and getting lost. When not lost in the woods you can find him wandering the banks of the river probably heading in the wrong direction.
