The Templar and the Magdalene

C D McCarthy

For centuries, a vow has endured.

Islay St. Clair, a Templar knight caught between the living and the ethereal, carries the burden of protecting the sacred lineage of Mary Magdalene.

Exiled from his brethren, haunted by betrayal, and trapped in time, he finally discovers his charge in present-day Rhode Island—Dr. LaDonna McKenzie, a healer whose compassion conceals an ancient inheritance.

As dark forces gather—demons cloaked in human guise, corruption rotting the city from within—Islay must stand guard once more, torn between his sacred duty and forbidden desire.

From windswept medieval Scotland to the tumult of modern America, The Templar and the Magdalene weaves a gripping tale of mysticism, sacrifice, and destiny.

In a world where faith collides with fear, the question lingers: can love and courage overwrite what has been set in stone for centuries?

ABOUT C D MCCARTHY

C D McCarthy is a retired Duke University medical writer/librarian and longtime author of novels and a memoir. She studied medieval church history, public administration, and information science in several universities and, as such, has a reputation as a “fountain of ephemeral knowledge.” Her long career in multiple information settings and lived experience in the diversity of American culture give her a unique, but far from complete, perspective and appreciation for life and the struggles inherent in her environment. So, her background and experience made the writing of The Templar and the Magdalene almost a given.
