ABOUT PEMBA SHERPA WITH JAMES MCVEY


Pemba Sherpa was born in the Khumbu region of Nepal, where he distinguished himself as a mountain guide. At the age of eighteen, he migrated to the United States and founded Sherpa Ascent International. He is the owner of Sherpa Chai and Sherpa's Adventurer Restaurant in Boulder, Colorado. His success in business allows him to remain active in philanthropic work in Khumbu.

 

James McVey is a former university professor and the author of five books, including The Way Home: Essays on the Outside West and The Wild Upriver and Other Stories. He lives in Eldora, Colorado.
