Daisy Fitzgerald completed an Honours Degree in Early Years Education and then qualified as a primary teacher in 2014. Since then, she has taught a range of subjects to children in both primary and secondary schools. Her first book was inspired by her New Zealand Huntaway dog, Floki, who she loves to take for long walks by the sea or out in the countryside with her partner Danny.
