Peter and Tog

A.M. Houston

Peter is an only child with a special friend. We soon discover that his friend called Tog is imaginary. Many children have an imaginary friend, it can sometimes be a worry for parents and carers. In this book we can see how Peter and his family get along with Tog and eventually learn to live without Tog who tells Peter that he has to go away to the faraway land of Stumblebum. Peter has a wonderful time playing with his friend Tog. They laugh and chatter together. They play at being fearsome dragons with the help of Skip the dog. But then one day Tog was late for school and he didn't seem to want to join in with Peter's games. Peter practices life without Tog and tells his mummy that she will have to be brave too because Tog is growing his wings and getting ready to leave.
