Stan Davis began writing after retiring, drawing on his experience from a long and varied career.
Born in the Midlands, he worked as an apprentice toolmaker before completing his National Service as a clerk and storeman in the RAOC. He carried out stocktaking at an ammunition depot in Sherwood Forest.
He married a girl from the area and still lives there today. He tried various jobs, including butchery, grocery, and working in several timber yards.
Unsettled, he changed direction once more. He entered the world of selling. He was a sales representative for two companies for the final twenty-eight years of his working life.
He has a daughter and two grandchildren. His hobbies are gardening and cryptic crosswords.
