Lipipuspa Nayak

Lipipuspa Nayak is a Bhubaneswar-based academic, freelancer and translator. She translates literature from Odia (her mother tongue) to English, specialising in translations of classics. A particular text she has translated is Lakshmi Purana, dating 16th CE, presumed to be the first feminist literature text in an Indian language. With fifteen published English translations of Odia fiction, poetry and plays, she is a recipient of the National Culture Fellowship of Government of India. She reviews books for prestigious magazines and newspapers, has made a documentary on the lesser known temples of Odisha, her state, and filmed a story adaptation for the national television.
