Lillian China Smith

Lillian China Smith writes memoir, poetry, fiction, and creative-nonfiction. She has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Ryerson University and was accepted to the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics from Naropa University for a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She has been published for her memoir, poetry, and prose poetry in several literary journals and was also nominated for awards for her prose poetry. She wrote for The Mighty Site for over four years about health issues to raise awareness about lupus and chronic illness and has her own blog on the same subject. Her articles from The Mighty Site have been read and shared widely. It was after becoming ill with lupus that she became a writer. This is her first children's book, and she wrote it for her son and her husband. She plans to write a book about lupus for other young people coping with the illness, and other Space Boy books for other young little space boys out there to enjoy in the future. Prior to becoming a writer, she was the founder of the charitable organization, Young Ones Charitable Organization, in Canada.
