Karen Bates

In Karen's first published children's book, her love of Australia, its beauty, flora and fauna is clearly evident.

Whilst living in the Riverland region of rural South Australia, Karen studied a comprehensive writing course via correspondence; this is where her love for writing for children became apparent. She has two more children's books to publish and is writing her first novel.

Karen enjoyed volunteering in the community with Meals on Wheels and LAP - Learning Assistance Programme - helping early readers develop and gain confidence.

Currently working on her bucket list, publishing a book can now be ticked off along with seeing Roger Federer play tennis and a visit to Paris.
