Janet Johnson Anderson

Janet Johnson Anderson is an award-winning novelist and poet. She is a marketing consultant, and paints, but spends much of her time sketching out future stories for children. She was born and raised along Chicago's North Shore, and lives in Huntsville, Alabama.

Janet is an advocate for the special needs population in their struggle against discrimination and isolation, and for women and girls in the world where there is gender injustice and abuse. The goal of her books, like POCKETS, is to lend a voice to the voiceless.

Pockets is a likeable penguin, but she doesn't fit in. She doesn't speak, everything is too loud, and she looks different.
