The author, before retiring, had worked on numerous large civil engineering projects both here in the UK and overseas. Projects such as the Channel Tunnel, HS1, and, Cross Rail, which brought John into direct contact with some very colourful and interesting characters many with incredible stories to tell. The author has successfully woven together many of these stories as the basis for his writing, whilst managing to disguise their true identities and factual locations.
