Hettie Aston

Now enjoying retirement, Hettie lives in Buckinghamshire with her husband and two cats. Much of her time is devoted to her related passions of sewing, quilting and social history.
In her working years she developed an interest in the barriers women faced in all aspects of life, particularly relating to health, family and work.

She has been heartened to witness, in recent decades, the widening of opportunities for women, although the life/work balance continues to be tricky for most.

In her own career Hettie helped to support families as a nurse, midwife and health visitor.

Writing this, her first book has been an enjoyable and challenging experience.
