Gordon Muirhead
Born in Ayr, Scotland, in 1964, Gordon Muirhead joined the Parachute Regiment as a junior soldier in 1981 and gained his military parachute wings at the age of seventeen.
He covered all corners of the globe with the regiment – the Far East, Middle East, Europe, Mediterranean, and South, Central and North America on exercises or operations.
He was an officer cadet instructor at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, regimental sergeant major and commissioned as a captain in 2003.
Leaving the Army in the rank of major, he was made a Member of The Most Excellent Order of The British Empire (MBE).
