ABOUT FI EMMERSON

Fi is a forty-four-year-old woman, late diagnosed ‎autism and, even later, ADHD. Fi has struggled with ‎anorexia nervosa much of her adult life. She's always ‎felt out of place, that she didn't quite fit in with her ‎peers or even into the normal presentation of anorexia ‎nervosa, so the late autism diagnosis (aged forty) did ‎not come as a surprise but definitely helped her ‎understand herself better. After a tumultuous few ‎years, Fi has thrown her energy into therapy and ‎studying, is now very much in recovery from ‎anorexia and almost completed a psychology degree. ‎She has also recently started working as a peer ‎support worker in the local community NHS adult ‎eating disorder service.‎
