The Perks of Being a Bookworm
There's nothing better than curling up with a great book. And being a bookworm definitely has its perks!
There's nothing better than curling up with a great book. And being a bookworm definitely has its perks!
1. The Smell of a Book
Also known as 'Bibliophilia', this is something that every bookworm enjoys. Nothing quite beats the smell of a brand new book, fresh off the shelf! To be honest, all books smell great. Old ones, new ones, damaged ones - we're addicted. But the smell of an old book is in a league of its own. You can practically smell the stories on the pages!
2. Sharing Your Knowledge
One of the major perks of being a bookworm is being able to give recommendations and share your knowledge. When one of your friends is stuck for a book, they come to you for recommendations. And when they love the book you've recommended, it's even better. Plus, you become a wealth of useless information and that's always fun!
3. A New Series
When you come across a new series that you've never seen before and you instantly fall in love. Partners come and go but book love is forever.
4. Reading Before It's Cool
When you find a book that no one else has read and it's amazing! It's like you have a little secret, a club that only you and that book are allowed into (although it is slightly annoying when people start recommending it to you and you have to keep saying "yes, I've read it already").
5. Bargains Everywhere!
Reading is one of the few hobbies that doesn't have to cost you a lot of money - you can find bargains just about anywhere. Kindle Countdown deals, bargain bins, charity shops - it goes on and on! And who knows, maybe you'll find your next favourite book without spending a lot of money.
6. Pretty Covers
Yes, we admit it - pretty covers look so good. Especially when you're collecting a series; seeing all those lovely covers on the shelf...it gives us the warm and fuzzies.
The list could go on forever but these are just some of our favourite things about being a bookworm. What are yours?
