Sharon Keon, the author of It Would Be Rude Not To, shares some details about their life after becoming a new author!

Did you always dream of becoming an author? I always wanted to write a book from a young age.  At school, particularly primary school, I was always writing something and reading lots of books.

What was your first job? My first job was in a children’s home.  I enjoyed the administrative work and the organisational side of things, however, the environment was often challengin to work in.

How did you come about writing your book? Was that your intention or did you start writing for fun? I wrote the book following a cooking holiday in Italy.  I have always loved to travel and to cook and combining both in the beautiful and inspirational setting of the Amalfi Coast was just the right time, right place! 

What was your life like before you became an author? My life has not really changed much since becoming an author, although I hope it will!  I still work full time as a school business manager with a home and family life that is very busy.

Did you face any struggles before becoming an author? If so, how did you overcome them? I was born with asthma, which at the time was not an illness that was common in children.  I always say the best invention (in my opinion) is the asthma inhaler, it changed my life!

Now that you are a published author, how has your life changed, if at all? My life has not really changed much since becoming an author, although I hope it will!  I have ideas for future projects, which I would like to focus on.

Can you please describe a typical day in your life now? I work full time as a school business manager in a local primary school.  The day is varied and always busy.  I walk my little dog Maisie who is a teacup Pomeranian and the cutest grandog ever and always cook an evening meal and knit or crochet in the evening.  Weekends I meet friends and family for drinks and/or a meal.

What is your most memorable moment of your life as an author? When a friend called me to say how proud she was and that she had enjoyed the book and was looking forward to the next book.

In a few words, how would you review your experience with Pegasus Publishers? Overall good, I would like Pegasus to take on board the comments with regard to liaising with Flavours Holidays in Edinburgh.  This company organised the trip to the Amalfi Coast and the subsequent trip to Sicily.  I would love to collaborate with them to promote the book and their holidays.

Why did you choose Pegasus Publishers? I read reviews and I just felt comfortable with Pegasus.  I thought Pegasus has a good reputation with a wide variety of books and authors.
