Along with release of the new books that came out on the 27th of August, congratulations to these authors, International dog day was celebrated too. The day is designed to celebrate all breeds, pure and mixed, by galvanizing the public to recognise the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year. The day also honours family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort.

The Adventures of Sheriff and Deputy Dog
Welcome to Fernielea Farm.
Life here is at a more leisurely pace and wildlife is appreciated and nurtured by Farmer Logan (Low) Field, his wife, Mrs Matilda (Tillie) Field and their daughter, Suzie.
Out in the yard, Sheriff, the old English sheep dog and his faithful partner, Deputy Dog, an Australia kelpie, keep law and order amongst the animals who call the farm home.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is your ordinary sheep farm. Oh no! There is always something unusual going on with the many residents, from a chicken who wants to be somebody else, the daring rescue on the pond, heroic actions of a stranger and that's just the beginning.
So join me in the pages of this book to find out what makes The Adventures of Sheriff and Deputy Dog your next favourite read.
Reg
Jasmin is a twelve-year-old Adelaide girl of Aboriginal descent. Her parents, both doctors, have volunteered to work in the Middle East for a year, so Jasmin will stay with her aunt and uncle in tropical Darwin for that time. The prospect is both very exciting and saddening, but to help with the sadness of missing her parents, Jasmin will be allowed to get a dog - her very first one.
At the local animal shelter, she meets and chooses Reg - an Australian sheep dog - who turns out to be not only super smart but also very much devoted to her.
Lots of new experiences and adventures follow; including a challenging adjustment to a new school environment, a near lethal encounter with a hungry crocodile and an equally dangerous encounter with gangsters stealing radio-active materials. But there is also lots of fun to be had - with new friends, parties, sailing, and horse riding - always with Reg in attendance of course!
The Adventures of Belle
Follow the adventures of Belle as she finds a new home and family, and gets up to all sorts of mischief plotting to be top dog.
The Adventures of Henry Porter
This book follows one of the many adventures of young Henry Porter, whose grandparents live on a farm full of adventure and possibility. In a world where the kids know how to download apps and connect to the free WIFI in any location, Henry navigates a different world when he visits his grandparents. Their house has no WIFI, but it does have walls covered in photographs of his many aunts and uncles who had endless adventures growing up. Henry decides to try to walk in their footsteps and create his own memories. Henry realises that just because Mama and Papa don't know how to text or use the internet, doesn't mean he can't learn amazing things from them. And the animals are always along for the ride.
