Svalbard is a story inspired by the life of a young deaf-mute, autistic man condemned to go blind, who has chosen an unexpected path to confront the cruelty of fate.
Rejecting the reassuring tranquility of the psychosocial system that wants to take responsibility for his life away from him, he decides to travel around the world. Left to his own devices, he confronts the multiple problems imposed on him by the incomprehension of his fellow humans and finally lands in Svalbard, the archipelago of his dreams lost in the mists of the Arctic Ocean.
Carefully preserving the smells, atmospheres and impressions he gathers on his travels, he lines the walls of his psyche with them, creating a formidable mental panopticon where he will take refuge once his links with the outside world will be forever severed.
