Stones and Bones

Anne-Louise Quinton

When a box is hand-delivered at Elinor’s door nearly two years after the death of her neighbour, Tom, she only expects a keepsake from him. Instead, she finds a letter asking for her help, and the beginnings of a mystery that Tom and his friends never managed to solve.

Hidden underneath the tissue paper are family secrets, forgotten histories, and strange events stretching back more than a century. Old photographs reveal familiar faces, long-buried tragedies resurface, and the past begins reaching into the present once more. As Elinor and her close-knit circle begin to follow the clues, unexpected connections emerge between the living and the dead.

Warm, witty, and deeply atmospheric, Stones and Bones is a Yorkshire ghost story about friendship, family, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried, where the boundaries between past and present are not as clear as they seem.
