A boy feared by his town. A knight who sees what no one else can. A darkness that refuses to die.

Centuries after a devastating world war, the kingdoms of Britain stand rebuilt upon faith, honour, and the vigilant watch of the Knights of the Seven Stars. Yet beneath the fragile peace, an ancient darkness still waits, feeding on hatred and fear.

Marc has never known kindness. Raised by a cruel father and celebrated only for violence, he rules a gang of street boys through fear until one savage attack leaves another child close to death. Arrested and facing a life of imprisonment, Marc is offered one impossible chance: become the squire of the renowned Sir Reuben.

As Marc journeys across kingdoms, abbeys, and haunted islands, he discovers courage, loyalty, and truths about his own past that will change his life forever. But as powerful enemies gather and an ancient evil rises once more, the fate of the realm may rest in the hands of the boy everyone had already given up on.

A sweeping tale of redemption, faith, adventure, and the enduring struggle between light and darkness, Marc is an epic fantasy where even the most broken soul can become a hero.

Born near Norwich in 1956, David was educated in Norwich, Nottingham, and Salisbury. He served as a Church of England clergyman from 1988 until his retirement in 2022. He has two sons, Adam and Daniel, from his first marriage and is now happily married to Susan. Together they live in Somerset, where David enjoys retirement while still taking the occasional church service.

Away from the pulpit, David volunteers with the National Coastwatch Institution and sings with his local choral society. Writing provides him with a welcome escape—a place where adventure flourishes, kindness prevails, and good people always have a chance to make a difference.
