Heartbreak Baby

Patricia Crossley Hayes

As the dark clouds of war gather over Europe, a child is ‎christened into a family not her own. Hers will be a ‎journey of discovery, of uncovering the truth about her ‎true parentage, and the prejudice that drove her mother ‎to face the unthinkable. Heartbreak Baby tells three ‎touching stories of love, longing and war; but will they ‎weave ever closer or be pulled apart, never to be ‎reconciled?‎

Patricia Crossley Hayes

Born in Lancashire in 1939, Patricia grew up in Worcestershire and taught English for twenty-five ‎years. She resigned, to work alongside and support, her husband, Alan Cotton, in his career as a ‎professional artist. In her sixties, she fulfilled an ambition to go to Drama School, gaining an MA in ‎Acting and Theatre Practices at Rose Bruford College. Patricia has been writing for over thirty ‎years, but this is the first manuscript submitted to a publisher. ‘Heartbreak Baby' takes her own ‎remarkable story as a starting point, but it is a novel, and most of the characters and events are ‎entirely fictional.‎
