Nostalgia and Dreams, how we all grow up with those, moulding our lives in some form. As we go through our lives, we continue to have dreams and aspirations. Christmas time brings back memories, more special as we get older. Childhood Christmases are especially poignant, the company, the sights, the smells. We have our dreams for the future, placed in the forthcoming new year. Children caught up in the belief and delight of the happy and magical world of Christmas trees, and fairy lights which remains with us forever. This story is set on Christmas Eve at the home of the Leigh family in 1960. The place is Richmond, Yorkshire, the family live at number 50, a lovely, detached house. The family are Doctor Richard Leigh, Mrs Ruth Leigh, their children Tristram, aged twelve, Martha, aged six. Oh, must not forget the family dog, Jack, a Jack Russell.
